Welcome to my first lesson here on GMC. Todays topic is warming up, I will show you what I usually do to warm myself up before a show or recording and give you some ideas about possible variations that might make things a bit more interesting to play. You will come across lots of chromatic runs, scale fragments and a lot of alternate picking.

...The main key is e-minor. Though at some places there's also the pentatonic blues and D-major scale involved. My ambition is to have a kinda' "floating feel" to it, so the notes should be played smooth and with legato.

Slap style is what everyone wants to do when they start playing bass. Nowadays these bass players are famous for using that technique: Les Claypool, Bootsy Collins, Louis Johnson, Mark King, Flea, Victor Wooten, Marcus Miller, Stanley Clarke etc.

A tune in the style of Justin King, a great player in this style. I use some traditional techniques but also I played some slap guitar and tapping.
